Between 1943 and 1944, Germans put great effort in the construction of launching site for the A4 rocket. Later the A4 got the propaganda name "Vergeltungswaffe 2" or "V2".

During that period, there was a parallel development of hardened (bunker) launch sites and mobile launch sites. Both were constructed in France.

As with the V1, enormous effort was put in the V2 supply chain between the factory in the Mittelwerk, Germany and the firing sites in France.

One remarks, in spite of all efforts, German didn't launch a single V2 in France.
