For the Atlantikwall, Germans made extensive use of armament from occupied
countries. The so called "Beutewaffen" ("captures weapons") . The Beutewaffen
usually got a new German name, with a letter between brackets, indicating the
country of origin:

The large number of guns used by the Germans and the dependencies of captured
ammunition and spare-part stocks made it rather complex!
Beside the large quantities of foreign (captured) guns, Germans used their
own guns, artillery, etc.
