The "Einschartenturm" was a turret from Tjech make and originally had four loop-holes ("Scharten"). The turret is 30cm thick and only one loop-hole was used (the others were incorporated in the concrete) so they called it "Einschartenturm". The machine-gun was a sMG 34 placed on a special carriage (MG.34-Lafette).There was also a persicope (magnification times 5) that stuck out of the central opening on top. The number of "Einschartentürme" built is small and unfortunately only two bunkers with the turret remain today in the "Landfront" of festung St.Nazaire (France). The bunker-designs in which the turret was built are:

Regelbau 647, Stand für 2 Einschartentürme (t);
Regelbau 648, Stand für 1 Einschartenturm (t).
